  • During the otherwise rushed shutdown of the company's Kazakhstan office, coordinated the migration of employee workstations to other locations. Ensured that the affected employees could actually continue their duties despite the circumstances.
  • Fixed the previously non-functional attendance report (time tracking) script.
  • Fixed networking problems in developers' test setup, resolving the disrupted development process.
  • Relieved the burden from the admin team by fixing software that now allows the HR department to disable the departed employees in a simple and secure manner.
  • Installed workstations for new employees, who would otherwise not have been able to perform their duties.
  • Identified and fixed network outages that would have disrupted the normal development process.
  • Provided VPN connection scripts, significantly decreasing the time it takes for the new hires to start working.
  • Identified and fixed old and incorrect information on the wiki, significantly lowering the chance of network misconfiguration in the future.

, 2024 - $(date)

  • Reduced my client's infrastructure expenses by 3, ensuring the same productivity.
  • Shut down and analysed a malware infected site, ensuring it's no longer used for phishing, and other sites are guarded against the scenario.
  • Successfully migrated 5 different sites (including services, data and DNS) in 2 days + DNS migration time. Ensured data integrity and little downtime.
  • Configured LAN at the local Eneik coworking. Prior to that ethernet connection was not available for most clients, and Wi-Fi was the only option.
  • Made a website and a telegram bot for the local cafe Rock Buffet, allowing the owner to have a sustainable business model.
  • Managing infrastructure for the above. Incident monitoring and response: identified and fixed production-stopping bugs.

, 2022 - 2024

  • Developed a firewall module, that most traffic passes through; roughly x2 worst case scenario speed increase.
  • Assisted partners at Intel with remote debugging. New firmware was ported to old hardware as a result.
  • Coordinated secure boot research for an ARM platform between several departments. That used to be the main issue with certification.
  • Made and performed benchmarks for future use in hardware procurement. That includes rack servers, single-board computers and microcontrollers, AMD64, ARM and RISC-V based.
  • Documented the I2C bus on an ARM microcontroller, allowing for company's software to be ported onto cheaper boards.
  • Documented all of the above, wrote presentations and articles for the internal newsletter, etc. Presented the R&D department work in general, and mine in particular, to the stakeholders.
  • Coached the other researchers and testers (all of the latter non-programmers) on correct usage of C language and Unix utilities. Helped find solutions to many of the department's hardest problems.
